Olivia's Story
With a background in corporate marketing and art gallery management, Olivia has gained commercial success and international recognition since the inception of her brand. Over the past 8 years, Olivia’s original paintings have been purchased for both public and private collections across Australia, the USA, UK and Asia, her designs regularly featured in notable publications and her popular prints sell across multiple online retailers both locally and abroad.
Having recently completed a set of large-scale commissions for Australia’s most exclusive resort and casino Crown Sydney (an expansion on the design and interiors functionality of her practice) and returned from a sell-out show in Singapore, Olivia is looking forward to diversifying into product design in 2023.
Throughout her artistic career, an enduring love of the beauty and diversity of the natural landscape remains a constant theme in Olivia’s creative process and output. With a minimalistic aesthetic Olivia’s atmospheric landscapes and elegant designs evoke a serene mood and sophisticated presence.

Odyssey (2021)
Olivia's 'Odyssey' collection comprises of seven stately pieces - a large triptych 'Terraqueous', inspired by the rosy red terrains and turquoise waters of Southern NSW's Sapphire Coast, and a series of six further striking panels, each representing different stages of the sunrise over Philip Bay at the artist's local beach, being Brighton Beach.
The minimalist aesthetic and refrained palette employed in the 'Odyssey' collection is reminiscent of the modern masters' approach to the treatment of colour and space. 'Auspice', 'Solace', 'Paragon' and 'Solstice' are described by the artist as 'atmospheric' or 'deconstructed' landscapes, in which distinct moments in time are compartmentalised by colour and spatial planes. The artist taps into the 'feeling' and experience of the natural landscape, rather than simply painting a representational depiction.
Similarly, whilst the rock formations and endless expanse of water are identifiable in 'Terraqueous', it is again the suggestion of form, and preference for colour and movement over exact references that successfully renders this triptych a triumph in the abstract landscape genre.
State of Zen (2020)
‘State of Zen’ (2020) is informed by the artists’ exploration of and experience of the vast expanses of space found in the natural landscape. It is out in the water and up in the mountains where Olivia delights in the seemly endless sense of space, best described as a ‘transcendental’ experience. The composition and colours of the vertical works are inspired by the horizon lines and the incredible changes across the sea and sky throughout morning, noon and dusk. The circular works are painted from an aerial perspective – as though we are enjoying a bird’s eye view of the mountains and the sea from soaring heights. As referenced in the titles and like many abstract painters before her, Olivia explores the metaphysical properties of colour in these works.
The German Fluxus artist Joseph Beuys once said “Humans must learn to transcend their reality. They have to create a spiritual vehicle with which they can reach a completely different standpoint in the universe.” This series of paintings, created during the global coronavirus pandemic, functions as just that – a spiritual vehicle through which to find inner solace. Amidst a world of uncertainty and chaos, State of Zen prevails.
Elements (2020)
The artist's love of the natural landscape, outdoor adventure and travel has culminated in a series of works that serves as an ode to the diverse terrains encountered both in Australia and abroad. Olivia’s signature resin technique features in a large-scale triptych and this multi-panelled work is accompanied by half a dozen small acrylic landscape sketches on canvas in a minimalist, somewhat whimsical style.
'Elements' is inspired by the energy and rhythm of the natural world, inviting the viewer to contemplate and engage with the beauty, power and ancient wisdom contained within.
Sorrento Series (2019)
The Sorrento Series aims to capture the rugged surf coastlines and pristine bay beaches of the picturesque seaside town of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula. Loosely based on photographs the artist has taken whilst running along the water (a favourite pastime). the abstract depictions evoke more than just the nostalgia of long summers spent by the ocean - the artist encourages the viewer to surrender to the incredible beauty of the natural landscape and enjoy being at one with the sun, salt, sand and sea.
